Every time I visit Glasgow and have time I always visit The Horse Shoe Bar. It has nothing to do with the hype which proclaims: “Great value at Glasgow’s ‘biggest’ bar”. The hype also says: “Few pubs in Glasgow are as big on value and service as The Horseshoe Bar. Pop in for a pint and you’ll soon see why.” It has all to do with the crack and the quality of the product. This Victorian bar, all 104 feet and three inches of it, is apparently the longest in Europe and merits an architectural listing. And the beer. Well it is quality and worth sampling. A massive plus is that the popular bar is near Glasgow Central Station. I’ve not tried the food, but this pub tries. Breakfasts are served from 10am bosses are big on live sport, with 11 screens and early opening times for major fixtures. The upstairs lounge upstairs has been the platform for well-known singers and they even stage karaoke nights.
