I’m always on the lookout for a really good local pub with atmosphere and good food. Step forward The Bull and Butcher. It is tucked away in the countryside near to Silverstone but just follow the signs from the A422. We visited on a cold, winter night and were greeted by a roaring log fire and a friendly face from behind the bar. This family-run, 16th century pub has gained a reputation for real ale and a wholesome menu and it is easy to see why. All five of us loved our food which included liver, steak, chicken and a vegetarian option. What’s more, they even catered for our grand-daughter, a smaller portion but of the same high standard. The newly re-furbished Bull and Butcher is well worth a visit.
