Café Spice Namaste, 16 Prescot Street, London E1 8AZ

Cyrus Todiwala has developed a style of blending traditional Indian culinary techniques and flavours with unexpected ingredients in his award-winning restaurant tucked away in an unimpressive part of the Capital near The Tower of London. It is renowned world-wide for its innovative and fresh approach to Pan-Indian cuisine and it is easy to see why.
The stylish restaurant is also highly regarded for its staff training and is apparently the only Indian restaurant in the UK to be named an Investors in People Champion. The staff could not have been more helpful and knew the dishes so well that we could work around my allergy problem with ease.
They are also committed to the environment and sustainability and the restaurant holds a Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice.
Cyrus and his staff go the extra mile and it is no surprise that he and Scots-born Tony Singh became the first Indian chefs to appear in their own primetime TV series.
I was privileged to be at Café Spice with three colleagues. Suffice it to say that we all loved our meals. This restaurant has class written large. Do try it. This is an eating experience, one you will savour.
