RATING: Food 4; Service 4.5; Ambience 4; Drinks (not applicable); Website 3.

If a room with a view is paramount in your booking criteria then the ninth floor of this splendidly-appointed hotel could provide a dream location to stay. The blurb proclaims The Tower as having London’s most sought after view. And, you know what, having experienced it on a cold but clear December night, I can’t argue. The stylish 801-bed hotel, which has 19 meeting rooms with the largest capacity hosting over 500 people, sits across the road from the Tower of London and down river from iconic Tower Bridge. It is within easy walking distance of London’s bustling financial district and near Canary Wharf, the Excel Centre, London City Airport, Greenwich and the West End. The high speed wi-fi works and there is a fitness centre, car parking and a terrace with unrivalled views of Tower Bridge, The Shard and the Thames. Two restaurants serve breakfast. A traditional English is served at the Gallery Restaurant and freshly-prepared modern fusion cuisine is served at the Brasserie Restaurant. One overlooks the Tower and the other a marina and the food is good. And, you know what, this is a good place to stay providing you like a 15-minute walk from Tower Bridge tube.
