And the food. My medium haddock and chips and mushy peas (£1.95 extra) was one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
The chips had just the right bite and the flaky haddock was moist and fell away at the touch of my fork. The batter was not overpowering.
This was proper food and my wife had cod, a generous portion done in a light batter. It was also top of the range.
We washed it down with a bottle of Chilean white and then went for a wonderful walk to enjoy the gorgeous sunset along the harbour.
One disappointing note was the state of the men’s toilet. Not the best, shall we say.
