Please read below for the reasons for this decision in a letter from general manager, Maria Cook. Ffestiniog Travel will help all customers to rebook as soon as the situation returns to normal. In the meantime, Ffestiniog Travel is reaching out to all affected customers and dealing with the cancellations effectively and sympathetically.
A personal letter from Maria Cook:
“It is inevitable that customers will be wondering how we are reacting to the ongoing situation and what effect this will have on their holiday bookings.
Ffestiniog Travel is mindful of the uncertainty and anxiety this will be causing and we are finding that our decision making is influenced not only by instructions issued by our own government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office but also by the governments of those countries we are visiting. This is especially true of quarantine instructions, border closures and so on. On top of this, we are aware that the UK government may shortly issue advice to everybody over the age of 70 (a large proportion of our customers) to stay at home.
It doesn’t help that most of the emergency instructions we are given are very time limited (typically late March or mid April) whereas we all know they will last for considerably longer. We need to plan for this in fairness to our customers.
In view of all this, we have decided to cancel all holidays until the end of June.
Please rest assured that where we cancel a tour, any monies paid by you to us will be refunded to you.
Tours which we have been forced to cancel will, wherever possible, be automatically included again in our 2021 programme and we hope that you will want to support us by rebooking as soon as we are able to get back to normal.”
