VisitScotland has welcomed the launch of a daily service between Frankfurt and Glasgow by Lufthansa using Airbus A320s.
Lufthansa already flies from Munich to Glasgow five times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the new route from Frankfurt further underlines the airlines commitment to the Scottish market.
Malcolm Roughead, Chief Executive of VisitScotland, said: We welcome the launch of this daily Lufthansa service from Frankfurt to Glasgow, which boosts Scotland’s air connectivity and further strengthens links to our second biggest international market.
“German visitors see Scotland as a destination for romantic adventures and touring holidays, with visitors returning time and time again because of our rich history and heritage and to venture off the beaten track to explore our scenic landscapes.
“With Glasgow’s unique location as a gateway to Scotland’s stunning countryside and coastline, this new air route presents an ideal opportunity for the tourism industry in the west of Scotland to expand their seasonal products and engage with this important visitor market all year round.”
