The building is stunning. You walk through the front door and you can’t help to be impressed by the architecture and the scale.
What’s more, you can’t help but be impressed with the scones. They are eye-catchingly big, they are packed with fruit and they crumble deliciously in your mouth.
Add some sweet, tangy, locally-sourced strawberry jam and this is heaven.
If you are in a group then the vastness of the café area does not intimidate. One look at the accompanying picture and you will see what I mean.
And the view over the River Tay towards Newport-on-Tay on a crisp, winter morning was uplifting.
The shop divides the café from the toilet area and they were spotless. Oh, almost forgot. The coffee was good too and the meals – healthy options included – looked good.
This is certainly a place to meet and chat in central Dundee.
We did enjoy the museum. The free section is quality but we expected a little more.
