New Lanark, Scotland – Brick City has been enjoyed by tens of thousands of visitors across the UK and now fans of LEGO young and old will have the chance to catch this must-see exhibition at New Lanark World Heritage Site during the summer of 2017.
Historical visitor attraction, New Lanark World Heritage Site, is delighted to welcome Brick City from the 28th June – 9th August 2017, 10-5pm. It is a celebration of some of the world’s favourite buildings and urban icons including the Colosseum in Rome, St Pancras Station in London and L’Arc De Triomphe in Paris recreated solely using LEGO Bricks, all designed by Warren Elsmore, a professional LEGO Brick artist.
The exhibition will include a display of over 60 fantastic models made from an estimated half-a-million LEGO Bricks. Within the exhibition area there will also be a ‘Self-led Play Area’ where visitors will be able to have fun building their own LEGO creations within a set session time.
Visitors can also book to take part in one of the LEGO® Robotics Workshops using the latest LEGO robotics technology to build and program amazing creatures that can move using motors, gears and wheels. Participants will learn how to program sensors to make the robot react to its surroundings. Using laptops connected to the LEGO kits they will program robot birds to chirp, crocodiles to snap and aircraft engines to rev! This workshop is great fun and ideal for nurturing and enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills.
Assessible Sessions are also available on the 13th July and 3rd August, 9-11am. These quiet and sensory friendly morning sessions will not be open to the general public (however extended families of children with autism are most welcome to join as part of a group), making them more suitable for visitors with autism and additional support requirements. There is a very limited capacity for these sessions so tickets MUST be booked in advance – as soon as possible to guarantee your space.
Brick City Exhibition tickets are available to purchase via the website or from the Visitor Centre reception desk which is open 10am-5pm 7 days a week. Please contact directly if you are part of an organised group of 15+ wishing to visit Brick City by calling 01555 661345 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
