Bistro du Vin

Serious burger just one of the attractions

Cooked just right and ideal for a lunchtime meal

We popped into the Bistro for lunch as the menu looked attractive.
The staff were friendly, there is a good selection and the seating area was comfortable.
They even allowed dogs into the area where we were and the waitress brought a bowl of water for the lively Springer spaniel on the adjoining table – nice touch.
And the food. It lived up to the billing. The club baguette was packed with streaky bacon and grilled Normandy chicken and came with a generous side of lettuce and tomato.
The HDV 200g burger patty with relish, bacon and grilled cheese on a brioche bun and with pommes frites was packe with flavour.
And the bouillabaisse was memorable. It was billed as a traditional Provencal fish stew and included red mullet, monkfish, a generous portion of seabass, prawns and six mussels. It arrived with two slices of crunchy bread liberally covered in tasty cheese with what appeared to be the addition of mustard. Could not fault it.
