HC Andersens Cafe, Nyhavn, Copenhagen, Denmark
Atmosphere is important when you dine out. Nyhavn has bags of it as well as a massive choice of eating places.
One word of warning. It’s not cheap but most restaurant staff speak English and the meals we had were enjoyable.
H C Andersens café provided what we wanted, fish and chips – not a substantial plateful but adequate – which arrived with organic vegetables (carrots and spring onions) and a tasty dip.
Yes, it was expensive but that’s the price you pay when the pound is struggling and you are in the middle of a city packed with tourists from around the world.
